Bryston BP26 Flagship Balanced Preamp. Signal input includes 3 sets of RCA + 1 set of BAL. Output includes one set of RCA and one set of BAL.
An output delay circuit was incorporated into the design. The output signal does not pass through the delay relay contacts, minimizing coloration.
The preamp board does not include voltage regulation. It requires an external +/-24V (for preamp power) and AC 8-10V (for selector circuit power) input.
The layout design strives to reference the original factory arrangement. We have finally achieved a suitably sized layout that remains very close to the original, which required considerable thought and effort. We did not rush the PCB layout process; this preamp project took nearly two months from start to finish.
This preamp completely lacks the harshness, unpleasant sound, and poor listening experience often associated with typical DIY preamps. The sound it produces is exceptionally transparent and grand, with a strong sense of musical immersion. It effortlessly invites you to turn up the volume without causing listener fatigue. The tonal character is aesthetically pleasing with high fidelity, offering meticulous detail in the subtleties when the music demands it!
