- High-quality domestic annealed silicon steel sheets and oxygen-free copper enameled wire are used to wind the full-power 108W transformer (model 865004). It has ample power headroom and extremely low temperature rise, remaining cool and vibration-free. It is mounted horizontally.
- Upgraded gold-plated copper terminals, volume knob made of solid gold aluminum (25x20), and power switch using a high-quality 10A 250V copper-handle silver-contact toggle switch.
- All amplifiers sold in our store are genuine pure tube amplifiers, utilizing output transformer coupling between the tubes and speakers. Experts know that the output transformer is crucial for the characteristic tube sound. This is incomparable to hybrid amplifiers or fake tube amplifiers where tubes are merely decorative! A genuine tube amplifier requires three transformers (the large one is the power transformer, and the two smaller ones are output transformers). The non-parallel layout minimizes interference between transformers, ensuring a high signal-to-noise ratio. The output transformers are wound using a 3+2 winding method, with cores made of Japanese Z11 silicon steel sheets (0.35mm thick). Z11 sheets offer higher permeability, resulting in deeper bass and superior performance compared to domestic H14 or H18 silicon steel sheets. The output transformer (model OP663501) provides a full 7W of power with ample headroom.
- All components are hand-soldered point-to-point, making upgrades and modifications easy.
- The chassis is made of solid ash wood, which is of medium hardness and much harder and more expensive than fir or pine. It is finished with clear varnish to preserve the wood's natural color and grain. The wood is dried to prevent cracking and undergoes multiple sanding, polishing, and painting steps for a rich texture and elegant appearance. The top panel is rose gold mirror-finish, and the bottom plate is 1.5mm thick painted steel.
Chassis Dimensions: Moderate size (30cm width, 26cm depth, 15cm height). The flat proportions and substantial weight (7.5kg) give it a stable and dignified presence. It is ideal as a desktop audio system or for upgrading computer audio. The chassis interior has extra space for replacing larger oil-filled capacitors or modifying the circuit.
- Components used: New Shuguang 5Z4P x1, Soviet OTK (85% new) 6N14N x2 pair, Beijing 6N11 x1. Filtering uses Japanese Rubycon or Nichicon 150μF x2 capacitors, with secondary filtering capacitors 22μF/400V x2. These are paired with a 6H 0.15A (EI57x24) inductor to form a CLC filter network, effectively suppressing AC hum (noise floor between 3-5mV, inaudible from 20cm away with a 90dB sensitivity speaker).
- Coupling capacitors use PHILIPS vintage zebra-stripe audiophile capacitors, delivering rich sound and delicate highs. The 6P14 cathode capacitor is a Taiwanese CAPXON gold-letter electrolytic. Volume control is handled by a high-quality Japanese ALPS 100k dual potentiometer, offering moderate damping and no rotation noise.
- Rated output power: 3.8W + 3.8W (Due to the strong overload capability of vacuum tubes, the actual undistorted output power is comparable to a 20W + 20W transistor amplifier!)
- This amplifier supports both 4Ω and 8Ω output impedances. It is best paired with high-sensitivity compact bookshelf speakers and works exceptionally well with our store's 5.5-inch full-range speakers. Since all tube stages operate in Class A, distortion is low, and the sound is sweet, smooth, and highly listenable.
- For safe shipping, we use reinforced packaging, and vacuum tubes are packaged separately. You will need to insert the tubes upon receipt.
