Product Details
Product Features: Rich midrange, warm sound, elastic, strong airiness, delicate highs, and enjoyable for extended listening! Changing tubes from different brands produces noticeable differences in sound, making it ideal for novice DIY enthusiasts who love to experiment.
The Charm of Vacuum Tubes: Vacuum tube amplifiers pair well with digital audio sources (such as CD, VCD, DVD, etc.), using the "tube sound" to mellow or eliminate digital harshness. This results in a warm, musical, and airy sound, delivering a sweet and smooth musical experience (often referred to as "tube sound"). In contrast, using a standard transistor amplifier can make the audio sound harsh and fatiguing due to the presence of digital noise, often called "transistor sound."
The 6SL7 vacuum tube is highly regarded for its unique sonic characteristics:
1. Warm Sound: The 6SL7 tube produces a warm and full-bodied sound.
2. Excellent Dynamic Response: It offers great dynamic response, capturing the nuances and details of music with precision.
3. Strong Transparency: The audio is clear and transparent, with crisp highs and powerful lows, providing a well-balanced listening experience.
Reference circuit diagrams are provided, but actual component values may vary based on the internal components used.
DIY Components Overview:
- 70W pure copper power transformer and 10H high-inductance choke coil are made with high magnetic flux iron cores. Both the choke and power transformer are fully shielded with painted enclosures to minimize magnetic leakage and prevent rust, ensuring an aesthetically pleasing design.
Tube rectification using 5Z4P or 5Z3P (compatible with various 5V imported rectifier tubes). The power supply includes 2x 47UF Korean SAMWHA capacitors, 1x 220UF Japanese Chemi-Con high-speed low-resistance capacitor, and a 10H choke coil, forming a CLRC filter circuit for minimal ripple and a quiet background. Tube rectification delivers smoother highs and a more rounded sound compared to solid-state rectification.
Dual 230V 100MA high-voltage supply, 6SL7 dual 3.15V 1A AC supply, with center-tapped filament grounding to effectively reduce noise. This filament connection preserves the musical charm of AC heating while eliminating hum. 5Z3P or 5Z4P uses 5V AC supply with 3A current.
No input coupling capacitor. Output coupling uses a vintage Tokyo Electron TE copper-pin MKP 0.68UF high-end film capacitor, offering transparent sound and wide frequency response, comparable to brands like MCAP.
Key sections, such as the anode and cathode, use Japanese carbon film copper-pin resistors (e.g., KOA, Panasonic, Fukushima). The power supply section uses 5-band copper-pin metal film precision resistors.
Japanese ALPS 16-type potentiometer.
Fully hand-wired point-to-point soldering with star grounding for minimal noise and easy component upgrades.
Includes new Shuguang 6N9P (directly replaceable with 6SL7) and Shuguang 5Z4P tubes.
Copper-pin silver-plated tube sockets.
Gold-plated pure copper RCA jacks, durable and secure. Three signal inputs with rear switch selection and one signal output.
Sound Performance: Rich and full-bodied sound, extremely quiet background, wide dynamic range, detailed, with delicate highs.
High-quality solid wood front panel and iron chassis with rich texture and excellent electromagnetic shielding.
Dimensions: 300mm width, 250mm depth (including knobs and RCA jacks), 160mm height (from feet to top of 5Z4P rectifier tube).
Weight: 4.7kg
